About the brand
Liz Fryett is a Los Angeles based jewelry studio where each piece is designed and crafted by hand using carefully sourced gemstones, freshwater pearls, vintage and contemporary glass, and gold-filled or sterling silver components.
Materials are selected for their individual character: the natural variations in gemstone and pearl, the depth and color of glass, and the way they interact. The color, texture and material combinations give the pieces character while keeping the collection feeling unexpected yet considered.
Natural variation is embraced as part of the design, so no two pieces feel entirely identical, while craftsmanship and quality remain consistent throughout the collection.
A note from Liz
I founded my jewelry line in Los Angeles in July 2026 after more than a decade working in fashion merchandising. After leaving my corporate career, I began making jewelry as a way to return to more creative and independent work, and I quickly fell in love with it.
Years spent developing product and thinking closely about how women dress shaped my instinct for what makes something feel both distinctive and wearable. Eventually, I realized I wanted to apply that perspective to something of my own; something more closely connected to my creative point of view and to the experience of actually making an object by hand.
I was homeschooled for much of my childhood in the Pacific Northwest, and I spent a lot of my time outside and on my own. Once I finished school for the day, I would get on my bike, explore, collect salamanders from the stream, or make little structures out of rocks and clay. I read constantly and played the violin. I was so imaginative and connected to my surroundings; I think there was a tactile quality to the way I experienced the world that I lost a little as I grew up then started a corporate career.
Making jewelry and working directly with natural materials brought some of that feeling back in a world increasingly filled with screens, speed, and constant urgency. My line pushes back on that, asking things to move more slowly and with greater consideration.
Nature, literature, memory, and music show up consistently throughout the collection. Some pieces are named for women writers, while others take their names from places, personal references, or the particular qualities of the materials themselves.
The Bridge to Nowhere Necklace, for example, was inspired by a hike of the same name that follows a river through the San Gabriel Mountains. The riverstone beads I used for the necklace reminded me of the stones in the water that day.
Literature is another recurring thread. The pearl pieces are all named after women writers I love, like Margaret Atwood, Joan Didion, Octavia Butler, Sylvia Plath, and others; women whose work has inspired me and shaped the way I think about independence, identity, and moving through the world.
A lot of the collection comes back to those same ideas about confidence, independence and strength. The jewelry is intended to feel elevated without being precious, and intentional without being overdone. My hope is that the pieces become personal to the women who wear them, taking on a life and meaning beyond the story that inspired them.
